I wrote this poem in college, and for some reason, it has been going thru my head A LOT lately.
(This is probably because I am feeling rather fat and unattractive :P)
Hopefully, you can catch the symbolism and let me know what you think.
Terraformation
Within seconds
I go from the atmosphere
To the core.
I reach eastward to China
And westward to Siberia.
Take a spin around the equator,
Once or twice.
All in the effort to shrink the earth.
But the earth is unchanged.
I pollute the atmosphere
With chemicals
Hoping to conquer.
I starve it.
Remove its indigenous life
And flush its oceans
With toxins to deplete it.
All in the effort to shrivel it.
But the earth is unchanged.
Frustration prevails
In the quest for perfection.
Consuming thoughts of conquering.
Irritating orbits around other worlds
Reveal secrets of cosmic proportions
And torment me with thoughts
Of perfect heavenly bodies.
Asteroids, comets, meteors collide
But the earth is unchanged.

I like it. It was very deep and it may surprise you but I can relate.
