The Uniform

I was checking out D's MySpace page (cuz I'm the MOM!) and saw this poem he wrote. I thought it was pretty good and thought I'd pass it on. I had to clean up his punctuation and spellling a bit (the english major in me).

Backstory: He's been trying to decide whether to join the Marines or the Air Force. Of course he's only 15! but feels these decisions need to be made now. *sigh* FCOL he still has 6 years to decide!!

The Uniform

Its hard to make this choice you know,

Which one to wear.

Do i want the blue or the black,

the red or the white.

Its honor in both,

business to each other.

Dress for sucsess.

Look good for my mother.

They hold both pride but history different.

One old,one new.

One represents the ground the other the air.

Do i have enough time to prepare for this comitment

Or will it be the day of the line.

Both carry blood,sweat,and tears.

Both have been worn over the years.

The few the proud

Or the sky is the limit

And stay off the ground.

This choice is hard to make which will i take.

Though i might not know now, i still can't wait to wear
