Dubuque

Look what I found at Aldi the other day!

I grew up near Dubuque, Iowa where there was a meat packing plant downtown. We drove by it almost anytime we went into town and it smelled HORRIBLE! You would always see semi truck loads of pigs going in the plant and I remember asking my mom what the truck driver was doing with them. She told me that he was "giving them a ride in his truck." I thought that was SO nice of him!

Several years ago the plant closed down. When I was out there for Thanksgiving, I saw that the whole facility was torn down and leveled. So I was surprised to see these in the store here in Ohio! I guess the plant is gone, but the name lives on.
