Top Heavy

I am beginning to think Nathanael's head has gained 5 pounds in the last week because he doesn't seem to be able to stop falling down and crashing it into things. At first it was our metal bed frame which gave him a big welt in the middle of his forehead. Then it was his attempt at stepping out onto the front porch which sent him head first into the concrete and scrapped up his eye.

But last night was the straw that made me want to wrap his head in bubble wrap till he is 5.

As he was running across the living room, he decided to spontaneously kiss the ottoman with his eyebrow. This act didn't have quite the caress of a loving kiss as it split his head open from eyebrow to lid and sent us running to the ER. Luckily, we got away with using the glue instead of stitches this time.

Man! Those head wounds can bleed!
Reminds me of a time I went to the same ER with another 16 month old boy who had also hit an ottoman and bit through his lip. Daniel still has that scar. Maybe we are starting a new family tradition!!

Good times, good times!

Poor Nathanael, what a bad week. I'm so glad that he didn't have to have the stitches, thank heavens for glue!
One time Katia through a plastic toy at Ethan and the corner of it hit Ethan right in the middle of his forehead. I had no idea what had happened at first and when I saw all the blood I thought for sure we would find a huge gash when I wiped the blood away. But it was this tiny hole that was causing all the blood. Thank heavens.
Merry Christmas Julie, I miss you!
