I may never leave the house again...

I will admit that I have been somewhat of a recluse the last month or so. I have been going out occasionally, to church, to the grocery store, the kids school, but only when absolutely necessary and only if I can't pawn the job off on someone else. I really just can't stand the snow, the cold, or the dull grayness of winter at all. It's very hard to get N bundled up and take him places in this too. So, I stay home.

Not today.

I started by cleaning the house, as usual. When I got to the vacuuming, I realized both of my vacuum's' belts have broken. Ok, so I decide that today was the day to go out to the store. No more waiting till Chris gets home or doing without (let's face it, around here you cannot do without a vacuum cleaner!). I get N bundled, drive to Meijer and spend an hour deciding to get other things while I'm already there.

So far, so good. I think it was even improving my gloomy mood! It didn't last long...

So, the bill was over $100 on groceries and stuff when all I really needed were the $2.50 vacuum belts, but that's not the kicker. After ringing everything up, of course, my card doesn't work. UGH!

So, I'm trying to figure all this out when a lady I know spots me. I'm not trying to be mean or anything, but to give you an idea, this is a lady who knew Chris in high school and thinks they are still there. If you can imagine the stereotypical image of a trailer park woman, this is it. Which in and of itself, does not bother me. However, this is the type of woman who lives for the drama, and loves to share that drama with everyone around her.

At this point, I am dealing with 2 cashiers trying to figure out why my card isn't working and listening to this woman go on, and on, about how she's getting married to a registered sex offender so they had to move because they lived too close to a school zone, and she doesn't understand why they took her kids away and their new adoptive parents won't let her see them even though they promised too. I still have the smell of her breath in my sinuses...

Still struggling with my card issue, I said "forget it" paid cash for the vacuum belts and went home. I wish it ended there, but after replacing the belts, the stupid vacuum still doesn't work!! It made some horrendous noise which sent N into a screaming, terror fit.

After spending 2 hours doing all of this, I am back in the exact same situation as when I started. So, I apologize to everyone and hope you'll understand if I decide not to leave my house ever again. I will miss you all, but you know where to find me. And after all, there is always Facebook!

I would never leave the house again too if I were you. Sounds like a sound life plan.
See you on facebook!

I totally understand what you mean about not want to go out because of the cold I am in the same boat and day after day I am forced out into the awful cold Iowa weather and on most days several times a day the joy of a cold winter. I'm sorry about your suck-o day the weather is warming slowly maybe the world will see the whites of your eyes another day. I'm with you my friend.
