Job Interview

I just had my first job interview in 5 years today! Needless to say, I was more than a little nervous. But as it turned out, the interviewer seemed more nervous than me. Whew!

It is a a "Grading Assistant" position of Kumon. Basically, I guide kids while they do worksheets on their own and administer tests from time to time. It is with preschool aged children (which I'm not entirely sure is a good idea yet, but we will see) with the possibility of doing other things as the center expands. It is only 2 days a week for 4 hours, so it should fit in our schedule ok.

I have been thinking a lot about working and careers lately. Basically, what do I wanna be now that my kids are growing up. Don't get me wrong, I am still in full SAHM mode, but since I have been working from home now and am the only one bringing in an income now that Chris is in school full time, I can't help but think about where each job I apply for will take me and if that place is somewhere I really wanna go. At the very least, this is something I can put on my resume for the future.

I should know by Monday if I got the job. Not sure I care either way (is that a bad sign?).

If it makes you feel any better, I still don't know what I want to be when I grow up either.

Yes, it makes me feel better except for the fact that I am older than you!

Good luck on your career search. I have plenty of things I really want to be but most of them either bring in a small salary (teacher) or the possibility of none at all (artist, author, photographer, etc.)By the way working with preschoolers keeps you young and is always entertaining (currently a preschool teacher)
