While it was nice to get to sleep in this morning, it is very frustrating for us all that the kids can't even go outside to enjoy their day off. The temps this morning were around -10 with a wind chill of -24!!
So, I've spent my entire morning arguing with Daniel about why he can't go out and have a snowball fight and why he can't walk over to his friend's house about 5 blocks away. Frostbite in 30 minutes or less! If Daniel has his way, he'd be camping out in this. Of course, I caved... some lessons are better learned first hand.
Carey and her friend, Belle, had no problem finding something to do today. They discovered that Nathanael works as a life sized dress up doll!
At least he's an OSU cheerleader!
Since we're all cooped up in here for a while, I figured I'd take the time to update on a few things I've forgotten to mention.
- Samuel got contacts for birthday/Christmas - He was very excited!! He is adjusting to wearing them very easily, but I've had to run him up a spare contact or his glasses to school once or twice.
- Daniel got glasses - He only has to wear them when he is trying to see the board at school or watching tv.
- Nathanael has a new pasttime - opening the dishwasher and running around the house with every kitchen utensil possible; including the steak knives!! He has gotten very good at opening this and geting stuff out all by himself without anyone around. It scares the crap out of me, and especially Cora, who is now extremely afraid of knives since her bloody accident back in October.
- Chris' heart cath is scheduled for Monday, January 19th... his 40th birthday!! What does it tell you about your life when this is the way you spend your 40th birthday? I'll give an update as to how it goes.
- Nathanael also has a new favorite saying. "Oh Crap!" I guess it could be worse, considering what he could pick up around here. LOL

Hope you are all warm and toasty where you are!!
