As you may (or may not) know, I spend a lot of time in the mornings on the computer doing work for one of my jobs. I try very hard to wait until nap time so I can give N all the attention he desires, which can be quite a lot! However, it doesn't always work out that way and sometimes he has to suffer while I work (the reality is that I usually do the suffering as I have to clean up after all the stuff he gets into!!).
This morning he made a major milestone in his development, at least in his own mind I'm sure. As I sit here typing away, I hear the Wii come on... What??? He should not have been able to do that. Not only would he have to climb up and turn the tv on, but he would have to turn the it to the correct setting (which is more complicated then changing the channel), and get into the locked cabinet to turn on the Wii. The remotes have no batteries in them since we discovered he can get them wherever we place them and turn it on that way.
I got up to check it out, and sure enough he stands there with battery-less remote in one hand and a still locked cabinet before him. I HAVE NO CLUE!! But if the kid is that desperate (and that smart) to play, I'm gonna let him play.
The other day, he wasn't so smart. So we made an little tent next to my desk with Daniel's camp chair and an old blanket. Hours of toddler bliss :) (mommy bliss too!)

If he's smart enough to turn it on, I guess you gotta let him play.
They sure can be clever when they really want something. And when they find something so simple soo entertaining how great is that.
